Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

The health and safety of our members, employees, and community continues to be of the utmost importance to us. We operate in accordance with state and local regulations, CDC guidelines and general best safety practices.

Our branches observe strict capacity limits based on current state mandates.

Measures we’ve taken for the protection of all:

  • Hand Sanitizer is available in each branch lobby.
  • Branches are disinfected regularly by a professional cleaning service and common areas are sanitized throughout the day.
  • We have made all of our locations handshake-free zones.
  • Plexiglass dividers have been installed.
  • Signs and stickers have been placed throughout the branch to help manage social distancing and traffic flow.

What we are doing to keep our members safe:

Appointments: Avoid wait time by scheduling a Member Service appointment in advance! Appointments can be scheduled online, in the RFCU Mobile App or by calling (800) 562-7328 and selecting option “1.”

Masks must be worn by all individuals when conducting business inside and waiting outside of the branch.

For the safety of all members and employees we ask that you do not schedule an appointment or enter our branches if you are not feeling well.

What we are doing to keep our employees safe:

  • We have advised our employees to stay home if they exhibit any sign of illness.
  • We have implemented social distancing techniques internally, utilizing teleconferencing and video conferencing when possible.
  • We have postponed all non-essential business travel.
  • We have educated our employees regarding handwashing and hygiene best practices.

Branch Operations:

Deposit Insurance:

During this unsettling time, it’s important to know that your money is secure.  Rockland Federal Credit Union is Federally Insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000 per account, per account owner. You can calculate an estimate of your Federal Deposit Insurance coverage by clicking the button below.

We are additionally insured by the Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC) for all shares and deposits in excess of the NCUA limit.

Stimulus Payments

The government has begun distribution of the economic impact payment, or government stimulus checks. We have compiled resources here to address frequently asked questions:

Am I eligible for an economic impact payment?

  • Visit the IRS webpage to determine your eligibility here

When will I receive payment?

RFCU cannot determine when you will receive your payment, timing of funds distribution is determined by the government. Payments were distributed beginning in mid-to-late April, 2020. Track the status of your payment via the IRS website: Get My Payment

You can conveniently verify recent deposits and balance information through the RFCU Mobile App, Online and Telephone Banking

Where will it be deposited?

If you filed a 2018 and/or 2019 tax return: Direct Deposit information provided for previous returns will be used to deposit this payment into that same account.

If you have not filed a tax return for 2018 or for 2019, but are required to do so: You must file a 2019 return to receive the payment.

If you were not required to file a 2018 or 2019 tax return: You must enter your payment information on the IRS website

Receiving a paper check?  Your economic impact payment will come in the form of a U.S. Treasury Check.  The check will specifically state “Economic Impact Payment” on the lower left.  Confirm the validity of your check by reviewing the security features of a U.S. Treasury check here.

Many Americans will receive their economic impact payment in the form of a prepaid debit card.  Some have been mistaking it for junk mail. So if you’re waiting for a payment, it will arrive in a plain white envelope with no indication that it is from the federal government. If you do think you discarded the card by mistake: call 800-240-8100 to get a replacement.  Once you receive it, you can use it to make purchases and withdraw cash just as you would your debit card.

What if my RFCU account used for previous tax returns is closed?

If you have another RFCU account with the same title, the payment will be deposited there.

If the account was closed only within the last 60 days, and you do not have another account with RFCU of the same title; we will re-open account the account and post the payment.

If your payment is returned because neither of the scenarios above apply, a paper check will be issued by the federal government.  Track the status of this payment via the IRS website: Get My Payment.
