Pebble Promise Foundation Commits $100,000 to Fuel First-Time Homeownership through MAHA’s STASH Matched Savings Program

BOSTON, MA – NOVEMBER 28, 2025 – Rockland FCU, through its charitable arm, the Pebble Promise Foundation, announced a $100,000 commitment to the Massachusetts Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA) Saving Towards Affordable Sustainable Homeownership (STASH) program. This investment will empower low- and moderate-income residents to achieve the dream of homeownership by directly matching their savings efforts for a down payment.
The donation will be administered through the STASH program, which utilizes a matched savings model. For every dollar a qualified MAHA member saves toward their down payment; the program provides a corresponding match, up to the program’s limits. This significantly reduces the financial hurdle of the initial down payment, accelerates the path to homeownership, and helps first-time and first-generation buyers build equity and wealth.
“At Rockland FCU, we believe that stable housing is the foundation of financial wellbeing,” said Debbie Marcella, SVP of Residential Lending at Rockland FCU. “Through our Pebble Promise Foundation, we’re proud to work with MAHA’s STASH program to help make homeownership more accessible for hardworking families across Massachusetts. This $100,000 commitment represents an investment in stronger, more resilient communities.”
MAHA, a Boston-based non-profit, has a long history of success in making homeownership accessible, pairing comprehensive first-time homebuyer education with crucial financial resources.
“The support from Rockland FCU and the Pebble Promise Foundation comes at a critical time when home prices continue to rise, making the down payment one of the biggest barriers to homeownership,” said Symone Crawford, Executive Director of MAHA. “This $100,000 investment will directly multiply the savings power of future homeowners, helping people build equity and achieve long-term financial stability.”
