to charitable involvement and
our staff is generous in giving back
to the community. We embrace the
idea of working together to help
shape lives, support one another, and inspire others to get involved.
Through our community involvement, we are able to reach out to members of our community by sponsoring programs and making donations that solidify the philosophy of "people helping people."
LOCAL CHILDREN FOR SUMMER CAMP
ROCKLAND, Massachusetts, (June 2009) - Rockland Federal Credit Union employees
collect donations each year to send children to local summer camping programs.
This year campers attended camps in Rockland, Walpole, North Attleboro, Marshfield,
Bridgewater, Hanover and Plymouth. Rockland Federal Credit Union employees have
been participating in this program since 2000. Rockland Federal Credit Union
employees are dedicated to supporting members of each community we serve.
RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM IN NORTH ATTLEBORO
supported a team of 10 employees who participated in the American Cancer Society's
Relay for Life event which was held in North Attleboro on June 12 and 13th. In
addition to the credit union's donation of $500.00, the team raised over $1,800.00
to support the American Cancer Society and cancer research.
BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF MARSHFIELD
MARSHFIELD, Massachusetts -Rockland Federal Credit Union has actively supported
the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield by contributing over $2,500 in 2009. In addition
to the Boys and Girls Club, Rockland Federal Credit Union supports a number of
organizations in the Marshfield community including: Marshfield Girl's Softball, Youth
Baseball, Marshfield High School and the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce.
SCHOLARSHIP TO LOCAL GRADUATES
to supporting the higher education of students in our communities. In 2009 the credit
union awarded scholarships to local high school students through contributions made
to the Rockland, Mansfield and Weymouth Citizens Scholarship Foundations as well as
to Rockland High Schoool, Hanover High School, Marshfield High School and the
Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School. As a community credit union,
Rockland Federal Credit Union is pleased to be able to support members of our community
with donations of this kind.
local Walpole resident, Paula Kavolius reach her dream of building the House of
Possibilities. This special facility will provide sustained relief through consistent programs
and services for families of mild, moderate and severely retarded children, youth, and
young adults. It will allow disabled children to participate in activities, socialize and receive
care while their parents run errands and take care of other matters.
WALPOLE, Massachusetts, (July 28, 2009)-Rockland Federal Credit Union sponsored the
Walpole Concert on the Common. Residents enjoyed performances by Hatrack Gallagher
and the Rick Maure Trio as they played music of blues and jazz built around exciting harmonica and vocals. As a member of the Walpole community, Rockland Federal Credit Union was pleased to provide this opportunity for residents to enjoy a night of fun and festivities! Rockland Federal Credit Union has been sponsoring concerts for the past 4 years. Branch Manager, Marlene Bristol-Girvan has been on the committee for over 9 years and is there every week selling raffle tickets for the 50/50 drawing.
